As the job market continues to change, new information emerges regarding job websites, interview questions, growing industry areas and companies, etc.   And keeping on top of the changing trends is essential to your successful job search!

Research is the name of the game and fact finding is your mission!  So take the time to proactively position yourself and Know What You Don’t Know!

Where to look?  Well, here a few helpful places to find information:

 

1.       LinkUp (www.linkup.com)

LinkUp is the new and unique job search engine that only lists jobs taken directly from company websites. We call them "hidden jobs" because they are typically unadvertised outside of company websites and can be difficult to find if you don't know where to look.

 2.       Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.bls.gov) 

With the strongest commitment to accuracy, quality, and integrity, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) produces some of the Nation’s most sensitive and important information. On a timely basis, we provide key figures on unemployment; inflation; earnings levels; projections of occupational and industry growth; productivity trends; job accidents and illnesses; consumer household expenditures; and much more.

 3.       Bloomberg Businessweek (www.businessweek.com)

A Cisco Success Story

I attended a resume writing seminar & conducted mock phone interviews with a Microtrain career counselor. These two activities gave me a leg up on distinguishing myself from all the other people looking for work.
