MicroTrain Technologies Celebrates 10 Years of Providing Chicago with Highest Level Technical Training

by on September 3rd, 2009

MicroTrain Technologies, a local leader in providing high-level, technical training to professionals in the Chicago area, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in September. The company first opened its doors on September 1, 1999, and has since trained over 10,000 students throughout the Chicago area. MicroTrain's training options covers a wide-variety of technological needs, including a full range of Information Technology, Project Management, Application, and Development courses designed to accommodate every skill, along with an assortment of professional certifications.

MicroTrain Technologies was co-founded in 1999 by Stan Van Nice and Dennis Muller, who met one another while taking a week-long Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) training class in 1998. One day over lunch the two struck up a conversation about how they felt they could create  better training organization that offered more effective and affordable training. After a year of planning and organization, they successfully opened MicroTrain Technologies in an office building in Lombard, and have seen the business thrive ever since.

"Over the past 10 years there have seen a tremendous number of changes in technologies, the economic climate, and the world as a whole," said Stan Van Nice, CEO and co-founder. "But because of MicroTrain's staff and elite level of professional instructors and trainers, we have been able to not only keep up with the times, but remain a leader in the training industry."

"Ten years later," Van Nice continued,  "MicroTrain's mission remains the same - providing the best hands-on training at affordable prices and convenient locations.  And we look forward to continued success over the next decade and beyond. "

Since its beginning in 1999, MicroTrain has expanded to 3 Chicago area locations, including one in the Loop, one in northern Deerfield, and the original in Lombard. Today, in addition to providing training for leading area corporate clients, the company is also playing a big role in helping unemployed workers in the Chicago area secure government funding for valuable career training which enhances their credentials and helps them find work. By working directly with the Illinois Workforce Development System to coordinate the distribution of the 2009 Federal Stimulus funding, MicroTrain has been able to provide the necessary training to upgrade, certify, and helped hundreds of  unemployed workers in the greater Chicago area get back to work.

"In addition to the focus on the latest technology and our top-level training staff, what sets MicroTrain apart is our dedicated customer focus throughout the training experience," said Dennis Muller, President and co-founder. "And in tough economic times like these, our team is making the difference by helping our students every step of the way, starting with selecting the right course and applying for any applicable government funding, and then our Career Services department helps with finding work, updating resumes, and even brushing up on interview skills. And with our industry-best exam pass guarantee, our students will know that their time and money is being well spent."
